12th Memorial Ultramarathon Zagreb – Vukovar 2013 runners at the start of the fourth stage from Slavonski Brod to Vukovar

Today’s fourth stage at the 12th Memorial Ultramarathon Zagreb – Vukovar from Slavonski Brod to Osijek was with it’s 84 kilometers the hardest if not the longest one. Unusually warm weather for this time of the year only increased the difficulty of the stage.

Five runners yet in competition started the stage and along them were running Duško Štrbac and two local runners and previous participants of the ultramarathon Zvonimir Šimić and Nikola Kovač.

As with previous days the finish line standings were the same. First was , second was Elvir Rakipović, the host of this stage and third was .

There is only one day left for the athletes to reach their final destination – Ovčara near Vukovar. Tommorow’s stage will be the shortest with ‘only’ 47 kilometers. We hope that everybody will finish this monumental race. Dear friends, you are our inspiration.
